Splash Pad opens on Memorial Day morning
The city’s Splash Pad in Veterans Park is set to open at 10 a.m. Memorial Day on Monday, May 26. Public Works Director Kenny Ray says that the Splash Pad, which is celebrating its second birthday, will be open from 10a.m. to 8p.m. each day until Labor Day. As a reminder, the pad area has a covered awning with tables, which is open
for folks to bring food. “You’re welcome to bring your pizzas and sodas, and
have a good time.” Mr. Ray says. “Just no food on the pad itself.”
There are no private reservations being accepted for the pad or the awning. “It’s free and open to the
public,” he added. The Splash Pad measures 40 feet x 58 feet, and it features 25 water sprayers of assorted sizes
and shapes.

A n y o n e i n t e r e s t e d should contact the City of Giddings at 979-540-2710 for information regarding certification. The pay for lifeguards is $15 per hour
