Rooted, A Wholeway House is a residential re-entry facility dedicated to supporting formerly adjudicated juvenile offenders who have recently been granted and placed on adult parole. These young adults have “aged out” of juvenile services and have chosen to reside at Rooted to support a stable and successful community transition. Rooted provides a structured, safe, and supportive living environment focused on skill development, and long-term stability. Our program emphasizes mentorship, consistency, and community as foundations for successful reintegration and independent living.

Position Summary

Rooted is seeking a Live-In House Manager / 24-Hour On-Site Staff Member to provide continuous on-site presence and support within the residence. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, stable, and structured environment while fostering positive relationships with residents. The House Manager will serve as a professional role model, supporting residents in daily living, employment, and personal development.

This is a live-in position, with housing and utilities provided at no cost.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour on-site presence for residents who are formerly incarcerated young adults currently on parole
• Maintain a safe, structured, drug- and alcohol-free living environment
• Serve as a consistent, professional presence within the home during evenings, nights, and weekends
• Build respectful, supportive relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
• Support residents in:
• Transportation to and from employment, parole meetings, and required appointments
• Developing basic independent living and life skills
• Respond appropriately to crisis situations, following established protocols
• Assist with light housekeeping and preparation of simple meals
• Engage with residents in appropriate daily activities that promote connection and community (e.g., shared meals, games, or group activities)
• Collaborate with Rooted staff and external partners to promote resident stability and long-term success

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 25 years
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass FBI fingerprint check
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to complete light maintenance, odd jobs and general handiness with tools is a plus
• Previous experience working with justice-involved individuals preferred
• Experience in addiction recovery, mental health, social work, or related fields strongly preferred
